I always smile when someone tells me he or she has no faith. . . . Everyone lives by faith to a certain extent. When you go to a doctor, you need faith to trust his diagnosis. When the pharmacy fills your prescription, you have faith that you’ll receive the appropriate medicine. When you eat at a restaurant, you trust that the people serving you have not contaminated or poisoned the food. (Some restaurants require more faith than others.) Every day is a walk of faith on some level. . . .
We choose what we will believe in. Some people choose to believe in themselves, some in government, some in evil, some in science . . . some in God. The only person I’ve ever known who didn’t believe in anything ended up in a mental hospital because it drove her crazy. Faith is something we can’t live without.
Faith is something we can’t die without either. Our faith determines what happens to us after we leave this world. If you have faith in Jesus, you know that your eternal future is secure.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. —John 3:16
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. —Hebrews 11:1
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” —Matthew 17:20
Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
