Jim Caviezel
Jim Caviezel

Like so many aspiring actors, Jim Caviezel moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s where he worked as a waiter and made the rounds of auditions. After landing small roles on popular TV shows like Murder, She Wrote and The Wonder Years, Jim talked his way into his big screen debut in My Own Private Idaho by pretending to be a recent Italian immigrant with a thick accent. He went on to bigger and better things, including the wrongly convicted Edmond Dantes in The Count of Monte Cristo and a war hero wrestling with a murder charge in the courtroom drama High Crimes with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd. It could be said that Jim's role as Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ is the ultimate in terms of making simultaneous physical and emotional demands upon a performer. Jim again gives voice to the words of Jesus, starring in The Word of Promise™ New Testament Audio Bible, a dynamic 20-CD set presented in dramatic audio theater.
